50 Year Celebration
Hosted between February 14th & 16th 2025.
The event has a heavy focus on showcasing as much of Tasmania’s Railway History & Transport history both past & present.
The event promises to be one of the railways largest in history and will feature the biggest collaboration of Visiting Railway Locomotives in Tasmanian History.

While Wee Georgie Wood & the Krauss will feature on a 2 foot gauge live steam demonstration line in our yard.

Event Day Opening Hours:
Child Pass (1-17yr) $20.00 (Includes all day entry to the event & unlimited train rides)

Locomotive Pass – $150.00
(A locomotive pass gives a one of a kind experience up front with the crew. Ticket holders must be 18+ for this experience & have closed in shoes.) Allows 1 return trip on one of our engines.

Enjoy an evening train special like no other, with a triple headed train journey, before spending a night in our function space with a full bar open for purchase, roast meal & live entertainment from Clinton Hutton Band until late.

Due to venue limitations, Please note the meal will not be fully seated at tables.
However there will enough seating spread around the facility indoor/outdoor for everyone.
Don River Railway Volunteer & Life Member Celebration – Free
A free gourmet bbq will be held on Saturday night for all of the volunteers helping out with the weekend, The Don River Railways life members & all of the organisations volunteers.
Entry for the bbq will be at 6oclock & is proudly supported by the Rotary Club of Devonport North.

Traffic
A Traffic management plan will be in place with local speed restrictions and a full parking plan.
Details of this will be released closer to the event.
A road run between Latrobe & Don River Railway for the Traction engines is also planned in the lead up to the event & details of this will be posted to social media.
