The Don River Railway is the North West Coast's Premier Tourist Attraction and one of Australia's finest heritage passenger carrying railways.
Located only 5 minutes from Devonport, Tasmania.
The railway is open every day (except Christmas Day and Good Friday) from 9am to 5pm. Both adults and children can enjoy around a 30 minute, train ride along the picturesque river bank of the Don River and return.
Currently our Train Services are available Wednesday - Sunday only, until further notice.
You can also enjoy the parks facilities including picnic areas, at Coles Beach and alongside our railway precinct or enjoy a picnic in the grounds of the Don River Railway. We have a unique recently restored Carrige (DB5) with tables and seating available.
The railway is owned and operated by members and volunteers who enjoy running and operating trains and 100% of our profit goes back into the railway to maintain our assets to ensure we continue; "Re-creating living Tasmanian Railway history, for the benefit of the the entire region".
So come down to the Don River Railway and enjoy a great day out.
Enjoy a day of family fun and Tasmanian Railway History.
